Dang, I’ve been in Korea for 6 months!! Time sure does fly. I hope I can experience a lot more of Korea before I leave at the end of the year.  Can’t wait to see my friends and family when I go back home. :D

wow. I havent updated in such a long time.  I think it is time for a new update.

I am finally in korea!! woo hoo.   I came here a week before my training started to hang out with my friend hanna.  It was fun and relaxing.  The best part of Korea is the street food.  ohdang is only 500 won and it is soooo good! Man.. i can eat that all day. haha.  I also got to meet my aunt, cousins and nephews for the first time.  They live in bundang so I went to go visit them.  The first time I went, I took the subway and had to transfer 4 times!! yikes! anyway, I thought it would be really awkward considering I have never met them before, but it was really good.  They’re really nice to me and my cousins try to take care of me.  It’s so nice to have older cousins :]

Week of training: Man did I want to go back home kus I hated training.  It was so stressful and overwhelming.  The kids that have to learn this stuff are crazy too, it’s like college material! So, I was trained for chungdahm hakwon and each class I teach is 3 hours long! There are other branches within chungdahm and one of them is April.  April is for elementary students who are at a lower level.  I initially wanted to do April because each class is only 40 min and its with kids :]  After a week of intense training, I was finally off to my school.  When I got there, the won jang nim told me that unfortunately, I would have to work at April.  In my head I was thinking, YES! Thank God! So I told him that I wanted to teach April and he was really happy too.  I wanted to know why I got switched and he told me that the girl who was supposed to teach April decided not to do it the day I arrived to school.  Man, was I lucky!

anyway, I already finished one week of work and its been pretty good.  MWF are a bit tough kus i have to teach 8 classes back to back.  it can get a little tiring.  My apt on the other hand is pretty nice! It’s a 2 story office-tell and its very roomy.  It is more than what I expected :D  So, if you ever want to visit me in Korea, you can stay with me. hehe

okay here are some pictures ~

I can’t believe I’m DONE!! woo hoo to all the grads! I always waited for this day to come but as I finished my last final today, it wasn’t the feeling I was expecting.  I thought I would experience joy and freedom, but I was far from that.  I still felt like I had to study and go to class.  It didn’t hit me that I’m graduating in a few days or that I never have to go to school again.

I’m actually pretty sad now that the school year is coming to an end.  No more late night talks with roommies, no more movie nights, no more theme parties, no more studying on the wobbly table, no more rapping and recording, no more 305, no more 316…..  As I reflect back on this year, I can say that I was truly blessed to have lived with 4 wonderful girls.  I’m going to miss everything about 305! If I haven’t met any of them, my life would have been completely different.  maybe even better. hahahah jk jk jk. You guys are the BEST! :]  Thank you guys for all the great memories!

What I’m actually anticipating are the events that are to follow after finals.  I’m so excited and ready to move on.  I really want to make the most out of all the time I have here in LA.  Lets get the party started!!

On another note, I donated blood for the first time today.  I was pretty nervous, but the doctors there were so nice and they made it very comfortable for me.  There were two doctors standing next to me while I was donating blood and we all conversed.  It was very interesting and fun because we talked about a lot of things.  I feel like we can be friends. haha Even after I was done, I stayed 25 minutes longer just talking with them.  wow, I didn’t know I could be so social. It wasn’t even because I felt like I should talk or that I felt uncomfortable, I actually wanted to know a lot of things and asked a lot of questions.  My first time donating blood was a great experience.  I look forward to donating again.  :)

My roommate Grace and I have the same birthday and we celebrated together.  On wednesday, we went out with roommates and ate dinner at Mr. Pizza.  I wanted to take sticker pictures so we went to the plaza to only find out that all the machines were BROKEN!!! WTH! can they do that to us!? anyway, we decided to eat shaved ice and while we were waiting we played 2 games of speed scrabble.  We then headed towards a NRB and we sang/rapped our hearts out.  It was truly a moment to remember.

IMG_3602The next night, our roommates surprised us with a red velvet cake and 2 bottles of apple cider.  yeah, not 1 but 2!! haha Steve and David came over and we had a lovely conversation about first impressions.  We literally talked until 3:30am.  It was very Fun!

On friday I ate dinner with my wonderful, lovely small group, minus Victoria because she went to vegas.  We ate at Kabuki and it was sooooo delicious!! I loved it.  Thanks you guys!  My small group and my roommates actually teamed up to get me a gift.  They got me a very nice blouse and a laptop protector thing for my macbook.  :]  My small group tried to surprise me at my apt after dinner and it was the most funniest thing.  Bae was making pazooki and nacho chips but we came too early. HAHA It was very cute!

Saturday I met up with my dearest friend Hanna Cho.  We ate lunch at the grove and went to the Getty museum in LA.  It was so PRETTY.  The weather wasperfect, the view was perfect, everything was perfect.  We pretty much just chilled there for awhile and had to start heading back to Torrance because I had to meet up with my family for dinner.

For dinner, I went to my aunt’s house in PV and it was mainly for mother’s day.  The menu was crab, sea bass, steak, and salad.  It was very, very yummmy!

Everyone was there to eat it except my dad and my brother.  Oh well, theymissed out. haha

Overall, I feel like I over-celebrated my birthday, if thats even a word, but I seriously had the best birthday fasho! This year is definitely going to be remembered.  I’m sad that this school year is coming toan end because I wont be living with my roommates anymore, but at the same time, I’m very excited for the next stage of my life.

Bekah, Jeff and I made our debut on saturday at CCM cafe night.  Yes, we are known as the Plastic [W]rappers!!

It was probably unexpected, that two girls would do a rap and thats exactly what we wanted.  We didn’t want any expectations.  When it was our turn to go up on stage and while Sam was introducing us, I was getting really nervous.  My palms were getting sweaty and I started blanking out on the lyrics.  Luckily, once Jeff started playing the guitar, it all came back to me and I just went with the flow.  If you guys are interested in watching our performance, here it is.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXDi2Dvrebw

If you haven’t noticed, our concept was to look gangsta, with the jumpsuits, oversized shirts, even with our hand motions.  Do we look gangsta??

If you guys were curious, the lyrics were written by a group of people and should be recognized.  Bekah, me, Jane Park, Bekah’s brother, Jeff Hong and Jeff Wang.  So everyone who liked our lyrics, it was written by all of us.  :]

Peace out~

Here is my update.  Dang its been a while! haha

If you didn’t know, I was part of KCN 2009.  A year ago, I was sitting in the seats waiting to watch KCN for the first time.  When I got up to leave Royce, I made it my goal to be in it this year.  I had this weird feeling inside of me when I was up on stage looking into the empty seats, thinking back on last year.  I DID IT!!  :Dahhh yeah!  But…. it wasn’t easy.

There were many many practices involved and a lot of learning.  Although I did not have a big part in KCN, I was still part of the modern dance team.  If one person messes up, then everyone messes up.  Honestly, it was super hard for me to learn the choreography for the dances.  It would take me so long to process what I was learning.  But in the end, it all worked out thanks to Leslie and my teammates.

what what!!!

what what!!!

There was a time when I asked myself why am I doing this!? Is it really worth my time and effort?? As time went by, I was really glad that I stuck through it.  In the end, everyone did so well, and all their hard work paid off.  I got to meet so many talented people through KCN.

I didn’t do this alone.  I had my friend Amy Lee with me.  We went to try outs together, we went to practices together, we took the bus together, and more. HAHA

Not only did I have Amy, but I also had my dear roommate Christine Bae (AKA Tree).  I can say, without a doubt, that she is the prettiest tree I have ever seen! haha

So, Jane was telling me and bae about this guy who met his wife on xanga.  Wow, could this really happen? I guess it could because another guy commented on the guy’s xanga post and said that he met his wife on xanga too!! When you hear the story, it literally sounds like a drama or a movie.  Man, good thing I made a blog because who knows, maybe I will meet my husband on my blog. HAHA.  Just to let everyone know, I am single and ready to mingle.  So if my future husband is reading this, don’t be discouraged to say hi or to leave a comment. hahaha wow I feel really weird writing this.  I hope this does not make me look desperate because I am not.  I am actually happy being single :]  Being single is not bad at all.  It is a lot of fun because you can do everything on your time.  You can hang out with roommates and friends who are also single and just have fun.  It’s already hard enough to be on top of your classes, but being in a relationship right now would make it even harder.  I guess I’m just not ready for a relationship right now because I have other things to focus on.  So, what I’m trying to say is that things can happen, and who knows, maybe I’ll meet my future husband on xanga.

Yesterday night bekah, bae, and I walked over to 7/11 and bought ice cream and corn nuts because it just seemed like the best thing to do.  Then we came home and played go stop.  We didn’t know all the rules on how to count up the points so bekah looked it up online to see the “official” rules.  After playing like 5 games, me and bae started hating on bekah because she kept winning. haha. and bae kept losing.. it was pretty sad. But its okay bae, there’s always next time. :]  Good thing we weren’t playing for money.  As we were playing, kath, amy and james came over and watched a really sad movie.  It’s called 마음이. It’s about a loyal dog and these two kids who live by themselves because their mom left them.  After watching this movie, it really makes you want to have a dog.  The dog in the movie is soooo cute and lovable, it could almost be your best friend. This was our night at apt 305.  jae min… you missed out!

Hello.  I decided to make a blog because two of my roommates currently have blogs and they are so fun to read.  I’m not sure if mine will be as good as theirs but I just wanted to make one for fun.  I don’t really have much to write right now other than the fact that I am really tired from a very long day.   Hopefully next quarter will be better.  Well, I will leave you all with a picture of my lovely roommates because they are the BEST.  :]
